TN24 is committed to delivering accurate, fair, and independent journalism in Tamil and English. This page outlines the editorial standards and principles that govern every piece of content we publish on www.tn24.in.

1. Editorial Independence

TN24's editorial team operates with full independence from advertisers, commercial partners, and political interests. Advertising revenue supports our operations, but no advertiser has any influence over our editorial decisions, headlines, or content. Our journalists select, report, and publish stories based solely on news value, public interest, and editorial merit.

2. Accuracy & Fact-Checking

Accuracy is the foundation of everything we publish. Before any article goes live on TN24:

• All factual claims are cross-referenced with at least one credible, verifiable primary source — government press releases, official statements, established news agencies, or direct reporter observation.
• Quantitative data (statistics, vote counts, financial figures, commodity prices) are sourced from official or recognised authoritative bodies and clearly attributed in the article body.
• Breaking news articles carry a clear timestamp and are updated in real-time as verified information becomes available. Unverified early reports are labelled appropriately.
• Photographs, videos, and embedded media are verified for authenticity before publication. Manipulated or out-of-context media is not published.

3. Source Transparency

TN24 attributes sources clearly in every article. When sources request anonymity for legitimate safety reasons, we indicate that sources have been withheld while stating the nature of the source (e.g., "a senior district official"). We do not fabricate sources or misrepresent anonymous information. Readers are encouraged to flag articles where sourcing appears unclear.

4. Corrections Policy (திருத்தக் கொள்கை)

We take errors seriously. If an article on TN24 contains a factual inaccuracy, we correct it promptly and transparently:

• Corrections are clearly noted at the top or bottom of the corrected article, stating what was changed and when.
• Minor typographical corrections are fixed silently. Substantive factual corrections are always disclosed.
• We do not remove published articles to hide errors — instead, we correct them in place and note the correction.
• To report an error, email us at tn24now@gmail.com with the article title, the claim you believe is incorrect, and supporting evidence. We will review and respond within 48 hours.

5. Content Moderation Standards

TN24 does not publish content that is defamatory, communally inflammatory, sexually explicit, abusive, or unlawful. Community-submitted tips and contributions go through an automated moderation layer and editorial human review before publication. Content that violates our community standards is rejected or quarantined for review. Serious violations are reported to appropriate authorities as required by law.

6. Sensitive Reporting Guidelines

TN24 follows established responsible reporting guidelines for sensitive topics including:

• Communal & Religious Issues: Language is chosen carefully to avoid inflaming tensions. Both sides of disputes are represented where possible.
• Suicide & Mental Health: We follow WHO media guidelines on suicide reporting — details of methods are not published, and helpline information is included where relevant.
• Crime Reporting: Victims of crimes, especially minors and sexual assault survivors, are not identified by name. Accused persons are referred to as suspects until convicted.
• Disaster Reporting: During natural disasters and emergencies, our priority is to publish verified emergency information (helplines, shelter locations, official warnings) promptly over narrative reporting.

7. Sponsored & Promotional Content

Any sponsored, promoted, or paid content on TN24 is clearly labelled as "Sponsored" or "Advertisement". Paid content does not influence or appear within our editorial news feeds. Native advertising, if any, is always clearly distinguished from organic editorial content.

8. Complaints & Feedback
